1. What Flipsy is
Flipsy is a web app for studying with flashcards, quizzes, maps and other learning tools. Learning in Flipsy is free. The optional Pro plan adds more storage (folders, sets, cards per set and verbs) for a yearly fee. Pro does not unlock any study feature that free users do not have.
"Flipsy", "we" and "us" mean the operator named at the bottom of this page. These terms are the terms of service required by Art. 8 of the Polish Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means. They are available free of charge before you sign up, and you can save or print this page at any time.
2. Who can use Flipsy
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you are under 16, or under the age at which you can agree to online services on your own in your country, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- To buy Pro you must be an adult, or have a parent or guardian make or approve the purchase.
3. Your account
- The agreement starts when you create an account, and it is free. It lasts until you or we end it.
- Give a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Do not share it or sell it.
- You can end the agreement at any time by asking us to delete your account: write to flipsy.admin@gmail.comfrom the account's email address. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.
- We may end the agreement or suspend an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms (see section 7).
4. What you need to use Flipsy
- A device with internet access (computer, tablet or phone).
- A current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, with JavaScript and cookies enabled.
- An email address, or a Google account if you sign in with Google.
5. Your content
The sets, cards, notes and other material you create or import stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy and display them only as needed to run Flipsy for you: saving them, showing them to you, making backups and exporting them when you ask.
If you make a set public, anyone with the link can see and copy it, and it may appear on Flipsy's public pages and in search engines. You give other users permission to study and copy a public set for their own learning. You can make a set private again at any time; copies other people already made stay with them.
Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not upload anything that:
- infringes someone else's copyright or other rights (for example, whole textbooks or paid course material),
- is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent,
- contains other people's personal data without their permission.
6. Reporting and removing content
- Anyone can report content they believe is illegal or breaks these terms, using the report link on a public set or by writing to flipsy.admin@gmail.com. Please say which set it is, why you are reporting it, and how we can reach you.
- A person (not an automated system) reviews every report. We act quickly and tell the person who reported what we decided.
- If we remove content, make a set private or restrict an account, we tell the owner by email what we did and why, unless the law forbids it. You can reply to that email to contest the decision, and we will look at it again.
- Point of contact for users and for authorities under the EU Digital Services Act: flipsy.admin@gmail.com. You can write to us in English or Polish.
7. Fair use
Please do not:
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or test the security of Flipsy without our written permission,
- scrape Flipsy, overload it, or use automated tools to create accounts or content,
- use Flipsy features (such as text-to-speech or translation) as a free service for something else,
- get around the plan limits in ways other than buying Pro.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and tell you why.
8. The Pro plan
Price and payment
Pro is sold as a yearly subscription. The price shown in the app is the final price, with VAT and other taxes included. Payments are handled by Creem, which acts as the reseller and merchant of record: Creem sells you the subscription, charges your card, issues the receipt or invoice and handles tax. Creem's own terms also apply to the payment. We never see or store your card details.
Renewal
Pro renews automatically every year at the then-current price until you cancel. If the price changes, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in Settings, which opens Creem's customer portal. After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the year you already paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan. There is no charge for cancelling.
Withdrawal and refunds
If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. We go further: you get a full refund within 14 days of buying or renewing Pro, every year, by writing to flipsy.admin@gmail.com or replying to your Creem receipt. See the Refund Policy for the details.
When Pro ends
We do not delete anything when your account goes back to the free plan. Everything you created stays and you can keep studying and editing it. You just cannot add new folders, sets, cards or verbs above the free limits until you are back under them or buy Pro again.
Changes to the limits
The free and Pro limits are shown in the app. We will not lower the limits of a Pro subscription you already paid for during that paid year.
9. Complaints
If something in Flipsy does not work as described, write to flipsy.admin@gmail.com with the email of your account and a short description of the problem. We answer every complaint within 14 days.
If you are a consumer and Pro does not conform to these terms, you have the rights the law gives you for digital services: to have it fixed, to get a price reduction, or to end the contract and get your money back.
10. Availability and changes to Flipsy
Flipsy is a small independent project. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
We change Flipsy to improve it, fix problems, keep it secure, adapt it to new technology or follow the law. Changes are free for you. If a change makes Pro noticeably worse for you, we will tell you by email in advance, and you can cancel within 30 days of the change and get a refund for the unused part of your year.
If we ever shut Flipsy down, we will tell you by email at least 60 days before, give you a way to export your sets, and refund the unused part of any Pro subscription.
11. Liability
Flipsy is a study aid. We do not guarantee any learning result or exam score, and you should check important facts in your own sources. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights or our liability under the law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. For an important change, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using Flipsy and delete your account; if you have Pro, you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of the year. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Before going to court, please write to flipsy.admin@gmail.com; most problems can be sorted out quickly by email.
Consumers in Poland can also get free help from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa). Consumers elsewhere in the EU can contact the European Consumer Centre in their country.
The English and Polish versions of these terms have the same content.
Operator
Flipsy is run by Klaudia Klubińska, a private person in Poland (unregistered activity under Art. 5(1) of the Polish Entrepreneurs' Law). Email for everything, including complaints, refunds, withdrawal and privacy requests: flipsy.admin@gmail.com. A postal address for letters and formal notices is available on request at the same email.
